Measure usefulness, not users.
servicedesign.cloud uses minimal, first-party analytics to understand what resources people find useful and where the directory can be improved. It does not build behavioural profiles or track people around the web.
What is recorded
When you follow a link out to another site, the site records that the resource was followed, and which page of this site you came from. When you search, it records the search words and how many results came back. Each record carries the day it happened, and nothing that identifies you.
Words you type into search are shortened, and anything that looks like an email address or a long number is removed before the record is kept. Records are added up into daily totals. The purpose is to learn which resources help people, and what people look for that the directory does not yet have.
What is not recorded
- no cookies and no local storage used for tracking
- no visitor identifiers, fingerprints or advertising identifiers
- no profiles that follow you between visits
- no IP addresses kept with the analytics records
- no third-party analytics, no Google Analytics, no advertising technology
- no cross-site tracking of any kind
Fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so loading a page does not contact a font provider.
Who else sees your connection
The site is served through Cloudflare, which protects it from abuse and handles secure connections. Cloudflare sees the same connection details any network provider sees, including your IP address, and processes them under its own privacy terms. The site’s own server keeps no access log.
Every listing links to a resource run by someone else. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy practices apply, not these.
If you object
Because nothing is recorded that identifies you, there is no record of yours to delete or switch off. If you would rather not be counted at all, you can copy a resource’s address from its page instead of following the Visit link, and searches are never required to use the site.
